MALMS Mobile

Measuring AGL performance

What is it?

MALMS Mobile measures airfield lighting performance against the criteria for beam intensity and orientation defined in ICAO Annex 14. It is therefore suitable to confirm compliance with National and International Standards. Mobile also provides information to identify problems, develop maintenance strategies and produce work schedules and maintenance reports.

MALMS Mobile

Mobile is widely recognised as the best photometric measurement system available. A policy of continual development is designed to ensure that this leading position is maintained. The following advantages identify the key factors that make this possible.

Advantages

Accuracy: Mobile is designed to ensure accuracy and repeatability of measurement, and has been independently tested to ICAO and US FAA test criteria.

Easy to use
: Mobile can be used by a single operator; no specialist training required.

Rapid measurement:
Mobile can survey at speeds in excess of 80kph/50mph i.e. 3000m/9000' runway centreline or edge (inset or elevated) of 200 lights takes less than 5 minutes to measure.

Vehicle independent:
Mobile can be used with any vehicle without modification because it is trailer mounted.

inset OR elevated AGL

Transverse will measure most types of inset and elevated lighting including approach lighting up to 1.5m above ground.

Laboratory Testing

Workshop will quickly and accurately measure the photometric performance of light fittings before they are installed on the airfield.

Effective Cleaning

MALMS have engineered products to remove contamination from light fittings and protect lights from future build up.
