MALMS Workshop

Laboratory Testing

What is it?

MALMS PhotoBench and Workshop are designed to quickly, simply and accurately measure the photometric performance of light fittings before they are installed on the airfield. Each is a self-contained system that can measure both LED and Tungsten Halogen fittings with near-laboratory measurement accuracy yet requires only a small floor area and no special dark room.

PhotoBench incorporates a 4.5 meter test tunnel and enhanced testing features compared to the ‘compact’ Workshop with its 3 meter test tunnel and basic software.

MALMS Photobench and Workshop

Advantages

Accuracy: PhotoBench has been independently tested by UK CAA and German TUV for conformance with the criteria for beam intensity and orientation defined in ICAO Annex 14.

Easy to use: Connect the fitting, close the tester door to measure, and a pass or fail result is indicated in approximately 30 seconds.

Compact: requires only a small floor area and no special dark room.

Rugged design: Scientific measurement equipment built for airfield maintenance workshop environment.

Reliable: With many systems in use around the world, these systems have demonstrated their reliability.

Fault tolerant: Designed to prevent operator errors with many automatic monitoring and quality checks to ensure data integrity.

Supported globally: Inbuilt diagnostics, dedicated support function plus global agency network provide effective customer support.

Inset or Elevated AGL

Transverse will measure most types of inset and elevated lighting including approach lighting up to 1.5m above ground.

Laboratory Testing

Workshop will quickly and accurately measure the photometric performance of light fittings before they are installed on the airfield.

Effective Cleaning

MALMS have engineered products to remove contamination from light fittings and protect lights from future build up.
